Turbo-Chem is known as the home of EZ Squeeze®, because it is the only place to get this industry-leading high fluid loss, high solids, lost circulation squeeze material. When EZ Squeeze® is placed in or across a loss zone, the liquid phase is squeezed from the slurry, which leaves a solid plug behind. EZ Squeeze® differs from other lost circulation materials, because it rapidly forms a solid plug within the lose zone, rather than remaining at or near the face of the wellbore. This minimizes the possibility of the seal being removed during drilling operations, which necessitates repeated remedial treatments of the same zone. Solving the loss problem as soon as possible prevents excessive mud volume from entering the formation; this further propagates the fractures and compounding the loss problems.
Premium Seal® is the definitive seepage loss additive and lost circulation material. Turbo-Chem specially designed this environmentally safe sealant to seal permeable formations. Premium Seal® is a deformable and compressible cellulose fiber, which is compatible with water and oil-based muds. The optimum Particle Size Distribution (PSD) of graded fibrous particles creates a bridging action within a fraction of an inch of the borehole; it also creates a matting effect within the mud wall cake. The sealing action of Premium Seal® will form a more permanent seal while drilling without subsequent danger of the bit, stabilizers or drill pipe damaging the seal. Premium Seal® removes easily during production; this results in high return permeability. The particle sizes in Premium Seal® allow it to seal micro fractures and prevent filtrate as well as whole mud damage to producing formations.
Turbo-Chem created Turbo-Phalt™ to be the most efficient and environmentally safe shale stabilizer and HTHP fluid loss control product available. Turbo-Phalt™ is a formulated low softening point gilsonite and resin mixture, which has been combined with a surfactant and lubricant package. Turbo-Phalt™ is effective at both low and high temperatures and has a broad application in water based and oil based muds. Highly effective HTHP water loss reduction results in thin, tough, lubricated filter cake development. The effective sealing of micro-fractured formations only minimizes unstable wellbore conditions, but the sealing capability of Turbo-Phalt™ reduces mud seepage loss and differential sticking tendencies in low-pressure sands. The lubricating qualities impart friction reduction to enhance rotary and motor drilling as well as logging and casing runs. Turbo-Phalt™ differs from asphalt-based materials because it is malleable even at low temperatures and is able to extrude into micro-fractures.
Turbo-Chem decided that there should be an Organic-HTHP Filtrate for Seepage and Lost Circulation Control, so they invented and manufactured the best one in the industry SYN-Seal®. SYN-Seal® is a single sack, chemically modified resin and cellulose fiber compound; it does not contain asphalt or asphalt derivatives. SYN-Seal® by Turbo-Chem is an oil-dispersible, powered additive designed for effective seepage loss and lost circulation control in oil, invert and synthetic systems; it provides rapid effective filtrate loss control. This product is effective in both low and high temperatures and has a broad application in oil and synthetic muds, while its primary use is synthetic seepage and lost circulation control. SYN-Seal® has highly effective HTHP filtrate loss reduction results in thin, tough, lubricated filter cake development. The efficient sealing of micro-fractured formations minimizes unstable wellbore situations, and the sealing capability of SYN-Seal® reduces mud seepage loss and differential sticking tendencies in low-pressure sands. SYN-Seal® has lubricating qualities that impart friction reduction to enhance rotary and motor drilling as well as logging and casing runs. And added benefit of SYN-Seal® treatments is that you will see improved emulsion stability, improved suspension, and more stable rheological properties in synthetic-based drilling fluids.
SwelLCM® is a gelled, swelling sealing agent used for extreme lost circulation. When placed within the loss zone, SwelLCM® will swell and fill fractures and void creating a solid inner matrix seal. SwelLCM® can be used with all water-based, oil-based and synthetic-based muds. It’s manufactured to solve lost circulation problems; it eliminates the risk of sidetracking the hole, which can occur with cement. SwelLCM® is unique in that it does not contaminate drilling fluids and requires very low concentration. This product initiates backup for EZ Squeeze®, cement squeeze or conventional lost circulation materials. It can be solubilized and cleaned up through acidizing or oxidizing.
Turbo-Lube XLT™ is a concentrated, water dispersible, amide and ester complex that is used in small concentration in fresh water, brine water, water-based drilling fluids and oil-based drilling fluids. Torque and drag reduction are accomplished as the coefficient of friction at metal-to-metal and metal-to-rock contact points is reduced. Turbo-Lube XLT™ helps to dramatically reduce torque and drag providing true weight to bit, increase penetration rates and helps in intervals where swelling and sloughing shale are problematic. This product will provide protection against stuck pipe and significantly reduce the hydration of troublesome shale. Turbo-Lube XLT™ has a high affinity for metal and reacts with shale surfaces immediately to provide a layer of protection, which reduces water wetting. Turbo-Lube XLT™ drastically increases the lubricity of the mud when it is exposed to an increase in pressure and heat.
